CHROME SWEET CHROME Be it ever so humble, there's no place like CHROME? Yep, we can probably drag out another 10 more cliches but the bottom line is that you wanna know what's going here, right? Well, we all know that the classic M03 chassis comes in 4 different flavours. Classic Grey, the New Black, M03R Smokey Chrome, or the M03R Blue Chrome. They all have their charm, but they also have one failing, everyones got one! Yep, any M03 you look at has one of these 4. Yeah there's been a few attempts at painting them, some successful, some less so. But the bottom line is that they never had that 'factory' look anyway.

So...we got to talking (as you do) and ideas were kicked around, lots of ideas, some good, most stupid. And someone brought up how disappointed they were that the first run of 03R chassis were that weird smokey chrome. To be honest, most of us when we saw the preview pics thought it was real chrome, and there was a little disappointment when it wasn't. So, would it be possible to get a small run of REAL chrome M03 chassis? Maybe?.... Long story short, we started up negotiations early in November last year, and kept negotiating through December...and into January...and then finally...agreement!!! Was it possible, could we actually be going to pull this off? Then the days seemed to triple in length in February, each night a visit to the Post Office, waiting for a big box to arrive. Finally it came...and the magic moment with it. Open up the box and there they were, shiny and large as life, the only chrome M03 chassis in the world. For us as serious Mini freaks (hey that's no news to anyone!) it was a special night indeed. There was something really cool about pulling them all out of the box and spreading them across the floor. Up until that moment, the rarest M03 chassis had been the clear ones, of which maybe 500 were made? But our M03 straight chrome ones? There are 20.... Just 20 in the whole world. Yeah we could have maybe got more, but then they wouldn't have been so exclusive, plus, it cost us a LOT of money as it was, putting out more wasn't an option. Of course we know what you're wondering right now... How the hell can I get one of these! Well, the news there isn't good... With only 20 in the world, the demand is, well somewhat high. And understandably first choice goes to the rc-mini crew themselves, then some of our good friends next, and then...well people who've slept with someone from rc-mini, or arranged for their mum or sister to sleep with us... Oh hang on, scratch that bit. The only SURE way to get one, is to come to Mini 50 in June this year as we're putting one up as part of first prize! Apart from that...well you'll just have to be patient..and hope. We may (and I stress MAY) be lucky enough to have maybe 1 or 2 to release for sale. If it happens, you'll read about it here of course. Until then, just feast your eyes on what just might be the coolest (and certainly the shiniest) M03 chassis EVER.
